Food for others

Helping feed over 4,000 families a week.

More than 100,000 people in the Northern Virginia area are predicted to experience food insecurity within the next year as a result of COVID-19. Food for Others is one of the largest food pantries in Northern Virginia, feeding an average of 4,000 families every week. In times of need, families may visit Food for Others warehouse or mobile sites and take home boxes of groceries including milk, eggs, frozen meat, fresh produce, and nonperishables. In addition, FFO distributes supplemental food on weeknights in 16 low-income neighborhoods throughout Northern Virginia and provides 21 community based organizations (i.e. homeless shelters, faith based organizations) with large quantities of food for their clients. Since March, FFO has been on the frontlines of the COVID-19 crisis and has been serving three times more families than usual each week.
